One way in which God had led Jewish leaders to reach out to non-Jews had been when Peter had got his vision when he had been praying. God had made Peter understand that he had to meet Cornelius to begin converting non-Jews to believe in Jesus Christ and the word of God (Acts 10:9-38). Another instance had been when Philip had gone to Samaria to show to the non-Jews that the power of God had been reflected in the way in which Philip had healed the sick and afflicted (Acts 8:4-8). Peter and John had also baptized Samaritans in Samaria and there had been receiving of the Holy Spirit by the Samaritans (Acts 8:14-17).
